Instruction is provided in Turkish. Students can attend the English Preparatory Program for one academic year to learn English as a foreign language for general and vocational foreign use. The purpose of this program is to train programmers so that they can specialize in creating basic software algorithms by using current software languages and software development technologies and also to train technicians who will be able to work as technical support staff in the installation and maintenance of computer system business.
Various career development opportunities have emerged in the computing field with the transition to information economy. Demand for IT staff is high in all sectors in Turkey and is on the increase. Graduates from this program may obtain posts as programmers, system administrators or operators in areas such as software, desktop publishing, computer networks and internet services. The program is designed with the purpose of presenting general knowledge on computing as well as enabling students to acquire skills in areas such as software development and hardware. There is a need for qualified personnel in all these areas in Turkey. The current climate has a profound impact on the business world and companies can benefit from new methods, particularly from e-business and e-commerce. Companies now require personnel equipped with information technology skills as they develop their business and trade practices electronically.
