The Preparatory School

The aim of the Preparatory Programme is to provide students knowledge of English required for them to be able to have an education at international levels.  We test the newly registered students’ proficiency in English at the beginning of every academic year. Students who can prove their level of English, through success in the International Exams taken during the last two years and approved by the Council of Higher Education, will not be required to take the proficiency exam. The Proficiency Requirements: IELTS: 5.5/9

Students of the departments whose teaching language is Turkish can also attend the English Preparatory Programme for the duration of one academic year to learn general English. Those students take a placement test and they are placed in classes according to their level of English. There are different programmes for the different levels such as Business English or vocational English for the advanced levels. The education is supported with different visual and audio-visual materials. In addition to this students have the opportunity to study English outside of the school by means of computer-aided and assessed learning.
